Privacy Policy
Comic X: Webtoon & Manga Reader (“Comic X”, “we”, “the app”) is a local-first ebook / comic / webtoon reader. This policy explains what information the app may process and how it is used.
1. Summary
- Comic X does not operate a Comic X user account server for reading content.
- Your library, reading progress, bookmarks, and settings are stored on your device.
- Optional cloud backup / sync uses services you configure (for example WebDAV).
- If crash / performance reporting is enabled via Google Firebase (or similar), diagnostic data may be sent to that provider under their terms.
2. Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use the app, Comic X may store locally:
- Imported books / comics and related metadata (title, author, cover, reading position)
- Collections, bookmarks, replacement rules, and app preferences
- Caches needed for reading performance
- Optional logs you enable for troubleshooting
This information remains on your device unless you export, share, or sync it yourself.
3. Permissions
- Storage / files / media: to open local ebooks and comic archives you choose, and for backup / restore when you request it.
- Notifications: for playback / background reading features when those features are used.
- Network: for optional updates, WebDAV sync, remote book sources you add, and crash reporting if enabled.
Comic X does not need broad access to your entire device storage when you pick specific files via the system file picker.
4. Network and third parties
- WebDAV / backup destinations: credentials and files you configure are sent only to the server you specify.
- User-added sources / URLs: if you import or use online sources, those third-party sites receive the requests your rules make. Comic X is not responsible for third-party site privacy practices.
- Firebase / analytics (if enabled in a build): may collect crash stacks, device model, OS version, and performance metrics to improve stability. No reading history is sold to advertisers by Comic X.
5. Children
Comic X is a general-purpose reader utility. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). Do not provide personal information of children through support channels.
6. Your choices
- You can delete books, clear caches, or wipe all local app data from Settings.
- You can revoke storage / notification permissions in system settings.
- Uninstalling the app removes app-private data on the device (exported files elsewhere remain).

8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the product changes. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
